Governance Commission and LACC strengthen integrity partnership
December 17, 2025-Monrovia, Liberia-The Oversight Commissioner of the National Integrity System Mandate Area of the Governance Commission Hon. Mathew B. Kollie, Jr, on Friday, December 12, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the office of Cllr. Alexandra K. Zoe, Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) in Congo Town.
The meeting reaffirmed both institutions' shared commitment to advancing the National Integrity Forum initiative and set the stage for joint actions in 2026.
During their discussions, the Governance Commission and LACC agreed to collaborate on several priority areas, including the revision of the 2006 National Integrity Forum Anti-Corruption Strategy to reflect current realities and strengthen policy frameworks, implementation of the second National Integrity Barometer in 2026, providing updated data on integrity trends across Liberia, development and launch of a National Integrity Index to assess and benchmark public sector institutions.
Other areas the two institutions also considered important for collaboration are convening a high-level policy dialogue to address systemic challenges that undermine audit effectiveness and to promote timely action on General Auditing Commission reports and broader cooperation on integrity programs nationwide, culminating in the hosting of the National Integrity Forum in late January or early February 2026.
The renewed partnership underscores a united front in reinforcing accountability, transparency, and good governance across Liberia’s public institutions.
