CSA concludes credential verification exercise at Governance Commission
Monrovia, Liberia-The Civil Service Agency (CSA), in collaboration with the leadership of the Governance Commission has concluded a credential verification exercise of staff of the commission.
The process, which commenced on Monday, February 2, 2026, was successfully completed on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in Monrovia, with the GC staff fully participating and cooperating.
It marks the second assessment of staff credentials at the Governance Commission following the initial exercise held in 2024 by the CSA as part of effort to address a GAC query issue identified after a comprehensive audit.
Speaking recently at the launch of the exercise, the Director General of the CSA, Dr. Josiah Joekai, said the exercise was being re-conducted to ensure merit-based employment across all public sectors. He disclosed that several government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs, the National Legislature, the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, and the National Housing Authority, have all been covered under the second phase.
According to the CSA Director General, the exercise will continue across all government ministries and agencies, and assure all civil servants of a transparent and impartial process void of witch-hunt.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Governance Commission, Mr. Jallah C. Kesselly, lauded the CSA team for conducting the second phase credential and verification exercise at the commission.
Speaking at the close of the process, Mr. Kesselly underscored the importance of the exercise and applauded the GC staff for their unwavering cooperation and collaboration.
The Civil Service Agency is expected to present its reports and recommendations from the credentials and verification exercise to the leadership of the Governance Commission in the coming days.
